With Freeride.cz buddy Vasek, we have recently been in Austria, where a lot of great content was created, which we have been serving to you. I'm sure you've noticed. During this trip we got the opportunity to test the Sensor board from the Swiss snowboard manufacturer, Nidecker.

Since its founding in 1887, the Nidecker brand has moved from making snow stuff, skis, to a large snowboard company that owns several well-known snb brands. Brands such as Flow, Jones, YES, NOW, Bataleon, Lobster or Rome. It's clear that Nidecker really understands snowboarding and this expansion of their snowboard brand portfolio says it all.

Nidecker comes up with innovative technologies and new products year after year. Many well-known names ride for them, such as our Šárka Pančochová or the famous freeriding legend Eric Jackson. It's a brand that wins prestigious awards for products that are changing the snowboarding world and taking it a big step forward.

Ever since 1984, when the first snowboard from the Nidecker factory saw the light of day, the brand has completely changed its focus to snowboarding and has done well! To this day you can see many Nidecker snowboards, splitboards and bindings on the market. Amongst others the Sensor board, which I tested in fine Austrian conditions.

I appreciated this test even more, because this year I am putting my old board to the final rest, so the Nidecker Sensor came in handy.

Let's Talk About it a Bit More

Sensor is primarily an all-mountain snowboard with a focus on freestyle. It is made for playful riding, whether on the piste or in the park. It's just flexible enough for perfect pressing and buttering. It's a lovely 6/10 on the flex scale and I have to admit that the values really match up.

The flexibility will get you into a high pop, while also helping you with tricks and, most importantly, holding you up. Tweak like hell, this board will get you out there! The board is made from premium quality materials like carbon, kevlar or a combination of poplar, beech, spruce and paulownia woods.

In addition, the board has a camrock and side-kick profile that aids in progression. For example, on bounces and when riding, as this technology lifts the edges at the widest points of the nose and tail and this leads to easier floating in powder and a smoother, more dynamic and fun ride.

This is a board you don't have to get used to. You just set the right stance and you're ready to go. This board will be fun on any terrain from the slopes, through the snowpark to the occasional powder run and beyond. It's a board that has to satisfy the all-around rider with its versatility.

Ride fast down the slope in carving with fun side-hit jumps, shred, bumps, bonks, spray skiers, learn new tricks in the snowpark and progress like hell. When it snows, don't be afraid to get wet with this board. The Nidecker Sensor is a proper all-mountain/freestyle machine for great money!

        Final Verdict by Štěpán

"I instantly loved this piece from Nidecker. I didn't need a whole day to get used to it, as is usually the case with freestyle boards. As soon as I touched it, I knew I was going to shred everything with this board from the first ride. Really a very playful and fun board that can hold its own in presses and buttering. It holds an edge on bounces and feels like it's glued on rails. I would recommend this board to beginner riders who are just starting out with freestyle. Intermediate riders can also ride it. For a beautiful 399.00 319.20 euros and now thanks to a 20% discount at Zezula you have a cool rocket that will hold you up in all kinds of terrain. And it's definitely worth it!"
