Rocky Mountain: Canadian MTB legend

Our offer of mountain bikes has just expanded by another exceptional brand. Rocky Mountain bikes are produced in North Vancouver, at the foot of the rugged Canadian mountains, since 1981. Now you can find them in our store and on the e-shop.

Strong brand roots in the Rockies

Nowadays a huge concept in racing and recreational mountain biking began to emerge in the late 1970s, when future Grayson Bain founders Jacob Heilbron and Sam Mak set out to modify road bikes to tackle the technical trails of Canada's west coast. Tom Ritchey, now a leading component manufacturer, then co-developed the first Rocky Mountain models.

Expansion soon came beyond the city limits, and even before the end of the 1980s, sales were overseas. Over the next decade, Rocky Mountain bikes found customers in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Japan, and in 2014 they were exported to 36 countries around the world.

In Rocky Mountain, they even set up their own Race Face Bicycle Components brand to use the best components for their bikes.

Sports achievements

The quality of Rocky Mountain bikes is best illustrated by a long line of great results in races and many significant awards.

  • Marie-Hélène Prémont won silver at the Athens Olympics with Rocky Mountain (2004).
  • The Rocky Mountain Urge bp Rally Team won the overall team ranking in the 2016 Enduro World Series after being second two years earlier.
  • The brand also achieved success and victory in difficult races Transalp, Cape Epic, TransRockies, Red Bull Rampage and many world cups.
  • The Rocky Mountain team includes XC, enduro and freeride riders.
  • Rocky Mountain Bikes has won several awards per round of the year from major cycling media.

Rocky Mountain Altitude

Rocky Mountain Altitude Carbon

In our country, Rocky Mountain introduces itself with the Altitude enduro model, which best demonstrates its respectable abilities in enduro races and in aggressive trail riding.

This bike proven by professionals combines uncompromising racing potential with the ability to provide a lot of fun even during recreational riding. For the new season, Altitude is even more capable and faster. You can also send it to jumps and drops, which you used to avoid.

Takes enduro to a new level

The well-thought-out frame is designed to work perfectly in all sizes and with riders of different heights. In Rocky Mountain, they use 27.5" wheels for smaller sizes and 29" for M and larger frames. The suspension is also tuned differently for each size.

Bike full of smart technologies

  • The RIDE-9 system allows the rider to fine-tune the geometry even more precisely with just two Allen keys. It offers a total of 9 options with which you can experiment.
  • Smoothlink suspension is effective when pedaling, but at the same time retains flexibility and comfort. Because they have thoroughly tuned each of the many suspension parameters at Rocky Mountain, their bikes provide a completely unique riding experience.
  • The basis of carbon variants is Smoothwall carbon. Rocky Mountain uses one of the most sophisticated manufacturing processes to achieve an unrivaled stiffness-to-weight ratio, excellent ride performance and durability. In order for the bike to have the best possible properties, specific areas of the frame are made of different types of carbon.
  • Aluminum frames are constructed of FORM™ alloy to meet Rocky Mountain's most stringent quality criteria. Each part of the frame and each tube is specifically designed exclusively for its purpose, thus achieving an optimal ratio of strength, weight and driving characteristics.

What do real experiences say?

Reviews confirm that Altitude can not deny its racing genes. Bike could start straight out of the box at the Enduro World Series and nobody would notice.

It is a stable, confident, but agile bike that is not afraid of the roughest descents, while it is not unnecessarily cumbersome for a smooth and efficient climb.

It clings to the terrain like a tick to the skin and encourages you to push the speed limit.

The rougher you send Rocky Mountain Altitude downhill, the more it will show you that it's not enough!
