Madrid Skateboards was founded in 1976 in California by Jerry Madrid, an avid surfer who shaped his first surfboards in his parents' garage. And when the waves weren't good, Jerry built his first longboard and rode the coast as enthusiastically as he rode the waves with his surfboard.
From the moment he made his first board, Jerry began inventing new shapes, new laminations, trying different sizes, and gradually his small shop grew into a successful longboard production company, now based in Huntington Beach, California, and importing longboards all over the world.
The Madrid brand endorses a number of riders such as Zak Maytum, Calvin Staub, Pete Eubank, Max Dubler and others and hosts successful competitions in various longboard disciplines. These races produce coverage videos that can be found on the blog located on the Madrid Skateboards website, as well as interesting videos with the riders themselves.
