Spark R&D Surge ST Splitboard Binding

The binding trusted by pros. Surge ST is ready for demanding conditions and long descents. Solid baseplate, stiffer highback and strong Pillow Line ankle straps. All of this will give you great riding conditions in tricky terrain when you want to make sure you have maximum control over your split. All Surge bindings feature Tesla's cutting-edge T1 technology, which allows for easy and reliable attachment in both climbing and descending modes.

The novelty of the last seasons is the Smooth Touring (ST) technology, which extends the life of the components and reduces their mutual friction. The climb is thus even smoother than ever before. In addition, all bindings are unisex only, so the choice is a little easier.

Smooth Touring (ST)

Several key components of the binding are modified using the overmolding technique. A special thermoplastic compound, which has ideal properties resistant to frost and abrasion, is injected onto aluminum or steel parts. This brings an even smoother feeling when climbing thanks to the reduction of mutual friction between the individual components. Their service life is thus extended and they bear the new designation Smooth Touring - ST.

• Baseplate - CNC machined base is solid for high stiffness and response. The sides of the base have been partially filled to increase durability and strength.
• Asym Rip 'N' Flip Highbacks - one of the new features of this season; asymmetrical ergonomic highbacks that are flatter at the top for better lateral mobility. High fiberglass content for a stiffer ride and great response. FLAD - possibility to adjust the tilt of the highback completely without tools.
• ST Whammy Bars - heel riser support is built right into the base and allows for easy repositioning on steep slopes. You simply switch from horizontal to low (12°), high (18°) and back.
• ST Touring Brackets - new touring brackets use ST technology. A plastic compound is remelted through holes in the aluminum base, creating brackets that last four times longer than their previous brass versions.
• Tesla Snap Ramp - binding with the T1 system is fixed by sliding it from the side into the ramp holders without any complicated manipulation. Enables attachment of Ibex cats and easy assembly and disassembly.
• Puck Compatibility – the binding is designed to work with all puck-compatible splitboard models. Pucks must be purchased separately.
• Pillow Line Straps - lightweight, durable comfort straps that repel water and have a one-piece molded construction. The ankle strap of the Surge ST is wide and asymmetrical and provides great support.
• Toe Straps – designed to fasten both over the toe and over the instep
• T1 Heel Rest - captures the heel riser at 12° and 18° positions and is specifically designed to hold the T1 Step Locker in place
• Buckles & Plastics – straps made of thermoplastic, which maintains elasticity in a wide temperature range. All straps feature proven Burton buckles.
