Wake riders from the SNOWBOARD ZEZULA team shone at the European Championships!

Our wake riders brought home medals from the European and African Wakeboarding and Wakeskating Championships! Terie Lisková won bronze in her category and Vojta Vomáčka took gold on the wakeskate! Terie, our rider and colleague from the store, describes how the preparations, qualifiers, and final runs went. And it was dramatic!

Successful participation in the European Championships from Terie's perspective

I had been thinking for some time that I might take part in the European Wakeboarding Championships. Last year, I told Vojta that I thought I could give it a try because I had the skills to do the features, and he agreed with me.

A year passed, and then they announced the location of the European Championships... STAWIKI! Well, it was obvious—the park with the best features, within driving distance, so we had to go there!

We did a few training sessions before the start of the European Championships, Vojta helped me figure out my run, and encouraged me to try a few tricks. But then the official training sessions started, and I began to feel like I couldn't do anything, I couldn't launch my raley, I kept falling... But in the last training session, everything changed and it started to come together! My run was set, my air tricks were fire!

On Tuesday, there was a beautiful opening ceremony where all the teams were introduced, and on Wednesday, the competition began in earnest. First up was Vojta on the wakeskate, who easily advanced from first place straight to the finals. Then it was Šimon and Vojta's turn on wakeboards, where the competition was really fierce! Unfortunately, neither of them advanced, but nothing was lost yet, because the next day there was still the LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier).

Then it was my turn to start my qualification, nerves on edge, but I rode calmly and was satisfied. I advanced to the finals from third place, which was a great success because the girls were skilled!

The next day, Vojta managed to advance in the LCQ! Unfortunately, he didn't do well in the semifinal run and was eliminated. Saturday was the day of the final runs, the atmosphere was thick, my legs felt like they weren't working, and I felt like I couldn't ride anything again.

But we went to cheer on Vojta on his wakeskate and the mood immediately improved. Vojta put on a dramatic performance, during which he fell but caught his wakeskate and, in an incredible way, got back on the board and then performed one trick after another. It was an unbelievable spectacle. We waited for the results, and Vojta came in first! Unbelievable, the second final runs were completed, and no one beat Vojta, and we were thrilled to have a EUROPEAN CHAMPION in wakeskating!!

Now came the incredibly long wait for my ride. Laughter gave way to tears, but luckily Vojta, as my coach, was able to be with me at the start. We played my "winning" song, did a little dance, and I set out onto the water with a smile on my face.

I played it safe on my first run. Despite being hit in the head by a drone, it wasn't bad, but I was fourth and I knew that if I wanted to be third, I had to push myself on the features, because that was my advantage! And I did it! A beautiful 540 into the pool, a lead on the rail and a 270 out, a raley, and I finished it off with a beautiful pipe to pipe, which took a lot of work in training and even destroyed a few wetsuits... I finished with a smile, satisfied with my run. I jump to third place! And even after the other competitors finish, I remain there! That's it, I'm third at the European Championships!!!

The Czechs and Slovaks are celebrating, and I have to say, it was an amazing feeling!!! Thank you all so much for your support and for making my dream come true. Participating in the European Championships is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! ...Or maybe again next year?
