FASE Bindings: Banger of the Season
13th October 2025 | 0 comments
There's another earthquake in the world of snowboard bindings! Introducing the new FASE technology, brought to us by three brands: Jones, Rome, and Bataleon. It will make fastening your bindings much easier, without compromising on anything!
We won't beat around the bush, because we know what's on your mind. "If two straps have been working for years, why should I care?" Here are a few reasons why you should want FASE:
- Finally, you can enjoy smooth and quick one-handed fastening!
- Works with any boots and board
- Gives you the confidence and feel of riding with strap bindings
- No complications, no extra weight
- Thoroughly tested by riders
So if you're a traditionalist and can't do without the classic two-strap design, with FASE you won't have to make any compromises. You'll simply save time and effort!
How FASE Works
This brand new technology will change the way you fasten your bindings. And it's suitable for riders of all levels – from beginners to shredders who spend half the winter on the slopes.
The main trick is that thanks to FASE, you don't have to go through the hassle of fastening and unfastening straps every time. Instead, you just tighten one strap on each foot. The whole system works faster and more comfortably, while maintaining the stiffness and precision that riders expect from classic, time-tested two-strap bindings.
Key Elements of the FASE System
The whole magic is based on three key elements:
- AutoBack – The heel cup on the FASE is designed to close automatically when you step in and open again when you pull your boot out.
- FastStrap – The innovative upper strap is extended so that it stays connected, allowing you to tighten it with one hand in an instant and you're ready to go!
- Locked-in Toe Strap – Set it once and forget about it. You can forget about the bottom strap after the initial setup. But if necessary, you can easily adjust it at any time with the LSR 2.0 ratchet.
The rest of the FASE bindings are not significantly different from the classic models. All types use top-quality materials and advanced strap technologies, giving you the optimal combination of control and comfort. Depending on your riding preferences, you can choose from several models with different degrees of flex and body and strap construction.
The universal disc ensures seamless compatibility, whether you ride a board with traditional inserts or Channel.
Entry and Exit
1. Open binding
AutoBack is flipped up, FastStrap is wide open, so you can easily step into the binding.
2. Entry
You put your foot in, AutoBack closes, and you don't have to worry about the bottom strap.
3. Tightening the strap
Tighten the FastStrap with one hand and you're ready to go!
4. Ride
AutoBack reliably secures the heel, FastStrap holds the foot in place, and you can ride to your heart's content regardless of terrain and snow type.
5. Loosening of the strap
Loosen the buckle and open the FastStrap all the way.
6. Exit
Just bend your knee, lift your heel, and step out. AutoBack will open by itself.
Where are the Downsides? Nowhere!
The mechanism itself weighs about 40 g, and the total weight of the entire FASE binding is comparable to traditional two-strap models.
Worried that the mechanism might take up too much space? Don't worry about that either! The volume underfoot and the overall length of the binding are no different from what we are used to with classic bindings. In short: there's no catch!
Can I Trust This?
Before its premiere this year, the FASE system was thoroughly tested by top world riders, including Jeremy Jones, Scott Stevens, and Ståle Sandbech.
They put FASE through its paces in various conditions and terrains and are thrilled with the results. They praise its intuitive use, maneuverability, reliability, and safety, which are fully comparable to a classic two-strap system.
