The innovative Dual Shell Integration (DSI) design combines the lightweight features of Zip-Mold and PVC shell with the durability of the ABS layer.

MIPS

  • The source of inspiration for MIPS technology is the human brain.
  • The brain is surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid, thanks to which the brain moves in the skull and is protected from shocks.
  • A thin friction layer of MIPS is placed between the inner padded part and the top EPS shell of the helmet using specifically developed flexible grips. Its arrangement does not disturb the overall appearance or shape of the helmet, nor does it reduce comfort or disturb technical properties. At the moment of impact, the MIPS layer moves along with the head independently of the direction of impact and reduces the rotation of the brain, which can pose a great danger.

Bern Heist meets CPSC and EN 1077B (snowboard and ski helmets) certification.

How to Choose a Snowboard Helmet

A helmet should be a must when you're on the slopes, whether you're a skier or a snowboarder. A helmet is primarily a protective piece of equipment, but nowadays it also serves a fashionable function - in our offer you can find helmets of many colours, shapes and sizes.

Helmet Size

To help you choose the right size of snowboard helmet, click on the link next to each helmet detail to view the size chart. In the table, each size is associated with a head circumference range. Measure your head circumference using a tailor's tape measure. Measure just above the eyebrows and run the tape measure horizontally around the circumference. Then select the appropriate size from the chart.

The helmet must sit on the head in such a way that even without the chin strap fastened, the helmet will not move when the head is shaken. Some manufacturers add foam pads to helmets to fit inside the helmet. This way the helmet padding adapts to the shape of the head as much as possible.

Air Vents

Snowboard helmets usually have several ventilation holes at the crown of the head. Thanks to them, the head will not sweat as much during increased exertion. These vents can be closed on some models, so your head is nice and warm when riding the chairlift or waiting in line for a lift. The vents are usually covered with a mesh to keep the falling snow away.

If you want a versatile helmet for both winter and summer sports, choose a helmet that has detachable ear flaps, or whole helmet liners.

Kids Helmets

For the little ones, helmets that have an adjustable circumference of the inner lining of the head are suitable. The kid will use the helmet for more than one season, plus the helmet holds firmly on the head.
