Men's Jones Mountain Twin Splitboard

All Jones snowboards and splitboards have two colour variations of the Flip-Flop Base, reducing waste in production. The base color variation is random, not tied to a specific size.

The Mountain Twin splitboard from Jones was made for creative splitboarders and is designed to offer precise control for regular and switch riding on any terrain.

The shape is completely redesigned with the addition of a blunt nose profile, 3D Contour Base and Traction Tech edges. The blunt nose reduce weight, Traction Tech keeps you on any snow, and the 3D Contour Base makes every turn easier. The Mountain Twin Split features Boltless Bridge and Karakoram Tip + Tail clips, and also tried & tested durable Sintered 8000 base.

Specifications:

  • Flex: 7/10
  • Profile: Camrock - A unique rocker/camber flex pattern defined by evenly balanced tip and tail rocker and camber between the bindings. Camrock improves freestyle finesse by keeping your tips playful while maintaining the power and pop of camber underfoot.
  • 3D Contour Base 2.0: Moderate 3D-base contours featuring an even balance of 4mm spoon bevel in the nose and 4mm spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts at the rocker point.
  • Progressive Sidecut: At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.
  • Quick Tension Tail Clip: Built-in climbing skin tension system using pre-cut notch that eliminates the need for a traditional skin tail clip.
  • Edges: Inner/Outer Traction Tech 3.0 - Traction Tech 3.0 technology has three protrusions on each edge (front binding, middle of the board, back binding). The middle lug is slightly larger than the outer lugs for better grip.
  • Blunt Nose: shape adapted to the nose of the board, which floats better in deep snow and prevents slowing down in powder
  • Locks: Karakoram Ultra Clips 1.0 - Ultra clips are the strongest, lowest profile splitboard clips in the world. They deliver unmatched compression between board halves and they are adjustable so you can maintain even compression as your splitboard ages.
  • Lamination: Biax Fiberglass - A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate that provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride.
  • Control Split Core: Dual-density full premium wood core featuring a 2:1 paulownia to poplar stringer ratio that keeps core light but ultra damp.
  • Recycled rounded ABS: Rounded sidewall finish that improves board durability by protecting topsheet from chipping.
  • Top sheet: the top sheet is made of Eco-plastic material
  • Reinforced nose and tail for greater durability of the splitboard
  • Base: Sintered 8000 - New super durable material made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and carbon. Base is easily repairable, highly wax absorbent and wicked fast. Already waxed with Wend natural wax from the factory.

How to choose splitboard?

Choosing the right splitboard gear is one of the most important steps to getting the most out of splitboarding. That's why we've prepared a How To section in cooperation with #FreerideTV. Today we'll give you advice on how to choose a splitboard, what to wear and how to try to avoid unpleasant situations in the mountains. Let's do it!

Splitboarding is a sport that attracts more and more people. It's an escape from the crowded resorts and a longing for icy silence in the middle of the woods and mountain tops. However, much more than other sports, the right equipment is very important in splitboarding because it can save your life. In addition to the splitboard and bindings, essential equipment includes pucks, climbing skins, poles and avalanche safety equipment.

You can do without them when you first start splitboarding, but in time every enthusiast will appreciate them. And by these we mean crampons. These are used in steep slopes and traverses on frozen surfaces.

The last important piece of the whole puzzle is the the right freeride clothing and avalanche backpack that can comfortably hold your avalanche gear. And how to put it all together and not go crazy, Dominik will advise you in the above mentioned video.
