Nidecker Alpha APX Snowboard

The Alpha APX is Nidecker's flagship model in the Biomimicry Series, combining innovative shape with premium materials for fluid, powerful turns across the whole mountain. The APX’s outline is carried over from the regular Alpha, and features a rounded 3D nose and a stepped-in tail inspired by designs found in nature; expect increased lift in deep snow, slush and crud, and seamless transitions from edge to edge.

The Surfy Camrock profile is more playful than traditional full camber but we’ve paired it with a carbon-infused triax layup to add some snap to those cutbacks. An upgraded N-9000 base keeps you flying over flat sections, while the Nidactive APX construction boosts edge grip and provides a stunning wrapped finish to the matte topsheet. Make no mistake: the Alpha APX sits firmly at the top of the all-mountain food chain.

Shape & Profile

• Surfy Camrock Profile - brings a special feeling of surfing on snow, which is sought after by the new freeride generation. With a long rocker in the nose for optimal float and regular camber in the middle and rear, it has all the reactivity you need to ride along with enough setback and a short tail.
• Directional shape - this shape has been one of the most popular for 50 years. The longer nose than tail allows the board to excel in powder sailing, gliding and carving with great stability in variable snow conditions.
• Evolution Nose - The 3D curvature of the nose guarantees a great feeling of a smooth transition from edge to edge, thanks to which you will experience one of the most natural and smooth riding sensations.
• Drop Out - this tail shape is based on natural principles observed in birds, which gain more control in the air thanks to the shape of their tail. The same is true on the board when riding on the edge, where the shape gives you agility and enables precise turning.

Specifications

• Pop Carbon Plus - double the amount of Pop Carbon, which is placed on both sides of the core and runs from nose to tail, creating twice the amount of pop and liveliness.
• N-9000 Base - thanks to carbon nanoparticles, the base has a dense structure, which makes it the fastest and most durable from Nidecker.
• Nidactive Sandwich Construction - The new construction is based on long-term research and rich experience. It consists in the precision of the assembly of different layers of material, measured to tenths of millimeters. The front and back are covered with cap construction, while the middle section has a 2mm sidewall for maximum energy transfer.
• Triax Plus Fiberglass - The result of extensive testing is triaxial lamination at an angle of 45° to the board. Combined with different density fiberglass, consistent torsional flex, stronger pop and better response in every turn is achieved.
• Absorbnid Topsheet - An innovative topsheet has been developed to absorb unwanted vibrations for a smooth and responsive ride.
• Light Core - the lightest core with 3 different types of wood. It's the perfect combination of paulownia for lightness, poplar for pop and sensitivity, and beech bracing along the edges to increase core durability, amplify pop and protect against side impact.
• 4/2-6 Inserts - With 6 rows of inserts every 2cm, this combination is the industry standard and works with all bindings on the market.
